A spectator freely chooses a card which may be signed if so desired. The card is returned to the deck. The spectator drops a paper clip into the empty card case. The performer pushes the cards into the box. The box is turned upside down and the cards fall out - but no paper clip - the deck is spread face down and the clip is seen to be on one card. The cards are turned face up and the clipped card is seen to be the signed selection. The spectator removes the clip from the card
